The Teaching Statistics Trust (TST) was established in 1978 as a charitable trust:
"for the purpose of furthering for the public benefit the study and research in statistical education and ancillary to this to promote a Journal ... devoted to the dissemination of educative information about statistics and any other information ancillary thereto and to provide money and resources to enable the said Journal to be published and distributed".
The Trust is registered as a charity with The Charity Commission for England and Wales under charity number: 277531 and is administered by a board of Trustees. The present Trustees are:

- Mr Alan Graham
- Dr Neville Hunt
- Mr Gerald Goodall
Currently the home of the Teaching Statistics Trust is the Royal Statistical Society Centre for Statistical Education.
The Teaching Statistics Trust publishes the journal Teaching Statistics – three times a year and it is now in its 32nd annual volume. It is directed to those who teach statistics to 9 – 19 year olds. See the Teaching Statistics website for details of the journal and related publications.
Research activities
The Teaching Statistics Trust supports research and study activities in statistical education. Small grants and bursaries are provided to assist individuals in travel for research and study purposes, and funds are devoted to specific research investigations and reviews.
Funding
The Teaching Statistics Trust funds accumulate and are disbursed according to the principles and functions of the trust.
