The R package rpanel is being developed by the department of statistics at the University of Glasgow, under the auspices of the Higher Education Academy network.
The package aims to make it as easy as possible for R users to add interactive controls such as buttons and sliders to an R application. A number of specific applications are also available within the package.
A new version (1.0-5) has now been released. The function rp.cartoons gives access to a growing collection of applications intended for use in a teaching context, including simple illustrations of confidence intervals, regression, likelihood and various other topics. The function rp.geosim uses simulations to explore the characteristics of spatial data, while the functions rp.mururoa and rp.firth allow students to explore issues of spatial sampling. More information about rpanel, and instructions on how to obtain the package, can be obtained form www.stats.gla.ac.uk/~adrian/rpanel/.
